RemSense raises $1.21 million to accelerate virtualplant and AI inspection platform

RemSense Technologies Ltd (ASX:REM) is raising $1.21 million through a strongly supported placement, with funds to be directed toward further development of its virtualplant digital asset visualisation platform and AI-enabled intelligent image analysis capabilities.

The company will issue 44,875,296 fully paid ordinary shares at $0.027 per share, raising $1,211,633 before costs from new and existing sophisticated investors.

The placement, led by Peloton Capital, received strong support from new sophisticated and professional investors, with allocations scaled back due to high demand.

Peloton Capital will receive a 6% capital raising fee on funds raised, as well as 25 million unlisted options exercisable at $0.04 on or before March 31, 2029, subject to shareholder approval.

Funds to support platform and AI capability

The money raised will be used to fund continued technological and capability enhancements, including further development of RemSense’s proprietary virtualplant platform and AI-enabled intelligent image analysis tools focused on critical infrastructure.

The balance will be applied to general working capital.

virtualplant is RemSense’s high-resolution 3D asset visualisation platform, allowing industrial asset owners and operators to remotely view and interact with facilities through an immersive digital environment.

The platform processes complex LiDAR point clouds, photogrammetry datasets, drone and RPAS imagery and other high-resolution spatial data to create 3D visual twins for asset-intensive industries.

RemSense is targeting a hybrid revenue model combining project-based digital asset capture, large-scale data processing and implementation fees with recurring software subscription revenue from virtualplant users.

Remote asset visibility for heavy industry

RemSense is positioning virtualplant as a tool for industrial operators seeking safer and more efficient ways to understand, inspect and manage complex assets.

The platform can help address limited remote visibility of complex facilities, reduce unnecessary site visits and improve access to fragmented asset data by bringing visual records, asset tags and operational information into a single environment.

Use cases include remote inspections, maintenance planning, asset management, training and inductions, safety and risk management, production, engineering, ESG and legal or insurance risk management.

The company is also developing AI-enabled functions across asset audits, inspection reporting and defect detection.

These include capturing asset IDs through nameplate identification, reconciling spatial and tagged data against enterprise asset management systems, auto-generating structured inspection reports and detecting defects such as corrosion.

The platform can integrate with client systems including SAP and IBM Maximo, as well as monitoring and data platforms, allowing users to link visual asset information with operational systems.

Tier-1 customers and global markets

virtualplant is applicable across oil and gas facilities, mining operations, infrastructure assets, processing plants, industrial facilities and facilities management environments.

Established Tier-1 clients include Rio Tinto, Chevron, Newmont, BHP, Applus+, ExxonMobil, Shell, Woodside and WSP, alongside global partnerships with AWS and Matterport.

The company sees opportunities in Australia, the United States, South America and the Middle East, particularly in oil and gas, mining, facilities management and infrastructure.

The scale of offshore energy assets is one target market, citing around 46 offshore facilities in Australian Commonwealth waters and 1,600 offshore facilities in the US Gulf.

Financial momentum

FY25 revenue from ordinary activities of $3.44 million is up 107% from $1.66 million in FY24.

Gross margin rose to 71.9% from 65%, while underlying EBITDA improved to $574,000, adjusted for share-based payments, compared with a $1.64 million loss in FY24.

The company also reported positive operating cashflow, with operational inflow of $376,000 compared with an outflow of $1.36 million in FY24.

As at March 31, 2026, RemSense had an unaudited cash balance of $610,000, while its market capitalisation was around $7 million based on a $0.033 share price at June 19, 2026.
