Eco Buildings delivers construction milestone on Albanian apartment block

Eco Buildings Group PLC (AIM:ECOB, FRA:9ZL0), a UK-listed housing technology company, has completed the second floor of its first apartment block at the Rolling Hills development in Tirane, Albania, demonstrating its proprietary building system can deliver premium residential projects on schedule and at commercial scale.

The first block, comprising 18 apartments averaging 100 square metres each, is expected to generate approximately €2.2 million in revenue upon completion. The third and final floor is currently under construction, with the company holding sufficient manufactured materials to finish the project.

This is the first of at least six identical apartment blocks planned for the Rolling Hills site, which will precede a larger villa development.

The milestone is significant because it represents the first live commercial deployment of Eco Buildings' patented GFRG technology, a glass-fibre reinforced gypsum system that allows rapid prefabrication and on-site assembly.

Eco Buildings' core proposition addresses persistent structural challenges facing the construction industry: rising build costs, labour shortages, slow delivery times, inconsistent quality and widespread housing undersupply.

The company's manufacturing-based approach differs fundamentally from traditional contracting. Rather than executing individual projects, Eco Buildings aims to build a repeatable, scalable platform deployable across multiple geographies and housing segments.

The system relies on localised manufacturing of prefabricated components, which are then rapidly assembled on-site. This approach reduces construction time, labour dependency and material waste whilst maintaining quality control.

The company's strategy centres on licensing its technology and deploying manufacturing capacity internationally rather than operating as a traditional contractor.

Dr Etrur Albani, executive vice chairman, said the project demonstrated that the company's technology could compete in premium markets whilst maintaining the speed and efficiency underpinning its competitive advantage.

He characterised the company's ambition as building Eco Buildings into a leading next-generation housing platform across international markets.

Successful execution on Rolling Hills matters beyond immediate revenue. It validates the underlying business model, provides evidence of manufacturing discipline and international capability, and strengthens the company's position for future contract conversion and market positioning
