EDU Holdings enrolments climb 32% as higher education demand accelerates

EDU Holdings Ltd (ASX:EDU, OTC:EDUHF) has reported a 32% increase in total student enrolments for T2’26, with growth driven by its higher education business, Ikon Institute, and continued expansion in postgraduate programs.

The tertiary education group recorded 7,036 total student enrolments for the period, up from 5,321 in the previous corresponding period. New student enrolments rose 12% to 963, compared with 859 a year earlier.

For the 2026 year to date, total enrolments increased 34% to 13,663, while new student enrolments were up 8% to 2,126.

Higher education drives growth

Ikon enrolments rose 57% to 5,847, compared with 3,725 in the previous corresponding period, reflecting international student demand, stronger domestic enrolments and momentum in postgraduate courses.

Higher education represented 83% of total group enrolments, up from 70% a year earlier, highlighting EDU’s strategic shift towards this part of the market.

Ikon new student enrolments increased 24% to 880, with higher education accounting for 91% of group commencements.

Domestic new student enrolments rose 98%, supported by new postgraduate programs introduced during 2025 and early 2026, as well as increased sales and marketing activity.

Postgraduate new student enrolments increased 174% and represented 45% of the T2 intake, up from 20% in the previous corresponding period.

VET market remains softer

EDU’s vocational education and training business, Australian Learning Group, continued to soften amid weaker market conditions.

ALG total enrolments fell to 1,189 from 1,596, while new student enrolments declined to 83 from 148, reflecting visa settings, visa outcomes and increased regulatory focus affecting international student demand.

The company said VET remained strategically valuable by supporting student diversity and providing pathways into Ikon’s higher education courses.

EDU expects to report final 2026 enrolment numbers in the week commencing 12 October 2026.
