Miivo Holdings Corp (TSX-V:MIVO) earlier this week announced the completion of its acquisition of Tandem, a move that management believes will strengthen the company's distribution capabilities, expand recurring revenue opportunities and accelerate growth among small and medium-sized businesses.
Speaking with Proactive, chief executive Alex Damouni said the acquisition provides Miivo with an additional channel through which it can deliver its AI-driven technology solutions to customers.
Damouni explained that Tandem has spent more than 15 years providing advisory services to small and medium-sized enterprises, establishing a strong regional footprint and a loyal customer base. He said the acquisition brings recurring revenue and creates opportunities for Miivo to leverage Tandem's relationships with accounting firms, software providers and other business partners.
According to Damouni, Tandem effectively becomes a distribution channel for Miivo's products and services. He described the opportunity as a "one to many approach" that allows the company to reach a broader customer base through existing professional networks.
The CEO suggested the transaction also aligns strategically with Miivo's broader market positioning. While Miivo has focused on delivering AI-driven technology solutions, the addition of advisory capabilities allows the company to offer a more comprehensive service proposition to customers seeking digital transformation support.
Damouni noted that both Miivo and Tandem operate in jurisdictions where governments are actively supporting AI adoption through policy initiatives and investment programmes. He indicated that this backdrop could help create favourable conditions for increased uptake of technology solutions among businesses.
Beyond the acquisition, Damouni provided an update on Miivo's wider growth strategy. He said the company continues to experience user engagement across its platform while advancing new product launches and evaluating acquisition opportunities.
A key theme highlighted during the interview was Miivo's disciplined "build or buy" approach. Damouni said proprietary technology development remains an in-house focus, while acquisitions and partnerships are used to expand distribution and market access.
