Horizon Gold Ltd managing director Scott Williamson talked with Proactive about the company's advancing Gum Creek Gold Project in Western Australia and the key catalysts investors should watch as the company moves toward development and production.
Speaking at the Gold Coast Investment Showcase, Williamson outlined Horizon Gold's recent progress, including a $30 million capital raise that is supporting an extensive exploration campaign. The company plans to invest approximately $20 million into exploration, including around 80,000 metres of drilling aimed at growing resources and extending known mineralisation.
The Gum Creek Gold Project is located in a prolific Western Australian gold district surrounded by established operators and processing infrastructure. Recent drilling has returned encouraging reverse circulation results, while ongoing diamond drilling is targeting underground extensions and additional opportunities beyond the current mine plan.
Williamson said the company is in the final stages of a feasibility study for a proposed standalone operation and is focused on transitioning from explorer to developer and ultimately producer. The proposed development includes a 2.4-million-tonne-per-annum carbon-in-leach processing plant targeting production of approximately 100,000 ounces of gold annually.
The discussion also covered Horizon Gold's current market valuation relative to peers and the potential for re-rating as development milestones are achieved and the company advances toward production.
