Adobe Inc (NASDAQ:ADBE) reported second-quarter revenue of $6.62 billion, topping analyst expectations of $6.45 billion, but investors were rattled by news of another C-suite departure.
Adobe disclosed that CFO Dan Durn will depart on June 15. Steve Day has been named interim CFO.
The CFO transition adds to leadership uncertainty at Adobe, which announced in March that long-serving CEO Shantanu Narayen will step down once a successor is named after 18 years at the helm.
The news overshadowed the software company's ability to benefit from growing demand for its artificial intelligence-powered creative tools.
Adjusted earnings per share came in at $5.96 for the quarter, ahead of the $5.83 consensus estimate.
Remaining performance obligations, a key indicator of future revenue, reached $22.27 billion, edging past forecasts of $22.11 billion.
The company issued third-quarter revenue guidance of $6.67 billion to $6.72 billion, well above the $6.51 billion analysts had projected.
Adjusted EPS guidance for the period came in at $6.05 to $6.10, compared with Wall Street's estimate of $5.77.
Adobe shares fell 5.6% in after-hours trading on the news.
