Pilbara Gold Ltd managing director Dr Peter Turner talked with Proactive about the company's ongoing drilling campaign and growth plans at the 2.1-million-ounce Mt York Gold Project in Western Australia's Pilbara region.
Pilbara Gold has ramped up exploration activity at Mt York, with more than 5,600 metres of drilling completed as part of a planned 50,000-metre campaign designed to expand and upgrade the existing resource base. The company currently has three drilling rigs operating on site, with additional rigs expected to join the program as work accelerates.
Turner said the company remains focused on growing the current 2.1-million-ounce resource and advancing the project towards development. He highlighted the scale of the Mt York system, which extends across a 4.2-kilometre strike length and continues to demonstrate strong mineralisation.
Discussing the drilling results and ongoing exploration efforts, Turner said: "Every time we drill this deposit, it gets bigger and we feel exactly the same thing this time round."
The company is also progressing technical studies, with work continuing to support a pre-feasibility study and the conversion of resources into higher-confidence categories ahead of a maiden reserve estimate.
