Digi Power X commits $35M to Nvidia's next-gen Vera Rubin platform to expand GPU cloud business

Digi Power X Inc (NASDAQ:DGXX, FRA:1NQ0, NEO:DGX) has committed $35 million to acquire Nvidia's next-generation Vera Rubin systems as it scales its NeoCloudz GPU-as-a-Service platform, the AI data center infrastructure company said Wednesday.

The Vera Rubin platform is Nvidia's rack-scale successor to Blackwell, pairing Rubin GPUs with 288GB HBM4 memory and an 88-core Vera CPU over NVLink 6.

Initial deployment is targeted for Q1 2027, subject to Nvidia's production and delivery schedule, with the purchase to be funded from cash on hand.

The announcement comes as Digi Power X reported its NeoCloudz platform has been processing AI workloads on its deployed fleet of Nvidia B200 and B300 GPUs continuously since mid-May 2026, with the company recognizing its first AI-related revenues that same month.

Construction of the company's purpose-built AI data center campus in Alabama remains on track, with Phase 1 targeting 15 MW of IT load set for a ready-for-service date of December 15, 2026. Full 40 MW deployment is targeted by the end of Q1 2027.

The company said it has secured commitments for all major long-lead equipment required for Phase 1, including critical electrical and switchgear infrastructure, while the on-site substation is complete and grid interconnection has been finalized.

CFO Paul Ciullo said the company held approximately $150 million in cash and cash equivalents, with roughly $65 million of capital already deployed into the Alabama site year-to-date from its own resources. "We are funding this expansion from a position of real strength," Ciullo said.

President Alec Amar said the company is expanding its engineering and operations team out of a new Silicon Valley office, alongside Chief Technology Officer Jagan Jeyapaul, to position itself within the AI ecosystem and closer to customers and partners.
