Marvell Technology Group Ltd. (NASDAQ:MRVL) shares jumped more than 27% on Tuesday after Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang publicly declared the chipmaker could reach a $1 trillion valuation, sending the stock to fresh highs following a blowout earnings report just days earlier.
Huang made the remarks during Marvell CEO Matt Murphy's keynote at the Computex technology conference in Taipei, calling Marvell "the next trillion-dollar company."
The comments extended Marvell’s year-to-date gain of nearly 230%, giving the company a current market capitalization of roughly $244 billion.
The two companies are deeply intertwined at the technological level. At the heart of their collaboration is NVLink Fusion, Nvidia's proprietary ecosystem into which Marvell's custom silicon, optical transceivers, and silicon photonics are integrated, allowing hyperscalers to combine non-Nvidia custom accelerators with Nvidia's broader AI computing stack.
Marvell also addresses a core infrastructure constraint facing the industry. As AI data center clusters scale toward millions of GPUs, Marvell's optical and high-speed data interconnect products provide the backbone that allows Nvidia's processors to communicate efficiently across large server deployments, making the two companies functionally complementary at the architecture level.
The endorsement came days after Marvell reported record quarterly results. The company posted Q1 fiscal 2027 revenue of approximately $2.42 billion, a 28% year-over-year increase, driven by a 50% jump in data center revenue and strong AI-related bookings. Management raised its full-year revenue outlook to nearly $11.5 billion, implying roughly 40% annual growth.
