Graphene Manufacturing Group Ltd (TSX-V:GMG, OTCQX:GMGMF) announced on Tuesday that it has submitted an additional application to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) seeking authorization to manufacture and sell graphene-based products in the US.
The Brisbane, Australia-based company filed a Significant New Use Notice (SNUN) under pre-manufacture notice (PMN) P-25-0018.
If approved, the application would allow GMG to manufacture, distribute, sell, use and dispose of graphene, graphene coatings marketed under the THERMAL-XR brand, G LUBRICANT products and other graphene-based fluids across multiple industries in the US.
GMG stated that it expects to receive EPA approval by the end of June 2027.
The new filing expands on an existing EPA authorization under the same PMN, which currently permits the company to export, distribute, sell, use and dispose of graphene coatings in the US.
GMG CEO Craig Nicol said that the application represents an important step in the company's US strategy because it seeks approval for domestic manufacturing rather than solely exporting products into the market.
“This application, if approved, will grant GMG the authorization to manufacture graphene domestically in the United States — not simply to export into the market, but to produce within it. That distinction matters,” Nicol said. “It positions GMG to serve US customers at scale, deepen our industrial footprint, and build a genuinely American supply chain for graphene-enabled products.”
Jack Perkowski, GMG chairman and non-executive director, said that the US represents a key market for the company's growth plans and that the filing reflects GMG's commitment to expanding its production and commercial activities in the country.
“We are looking to the US to drive the next chapter of GMG's commercial expansion,” Perkowski said.
