Itaconix flags record half-year in sight as Middle East disruption opens new doors

Itaconix PLC (AIM:ITX, OTCQB:ITXXF, FRA:18G0), the plant-based specialty polymer company, says trading in the current financial year remains in line with board expectations and that management anticipates the first half of financial year 2026 will be another record period, following what it described as its most successful year to date in financial year 2025.

The update accompanies the company's presentation at the Mello 2026 Investor Conference in London today.

Its core Itaconix Performance Ingredients business continues to build momentum in consumer detergent applications, where its polymers are used for scale inhibition and odour neutralisation as an alternative to fossil-based specialty chemicals.

The company says Middle Eastern conflicts are disrupting the production and supply of those competing fossil-based ingredients, and that customers are increasingly recognising the pricing and supply stability of Itaconix's plant-based alternatives as a potential source of competitive advantage.

Logistics and transportation costs within its own supply chain have not experienced significant disruption, and gross profit margins remain steady.

Beyond its core detergent market, the company has made a series of moves to extend its technology into new application areas.

In May, it launched deeperclean.com, a marketing initiative targeting North American consumer detergent brand owners, with its plant-based dishwashing detergent tablet as the flagship product following its debut at the American Cleaning Institute's Innovation Showcase in February.

Also in May, Itaconix announced the development of a new class of paints under its BIO*Asterix programme, working with an established specialty paint company to evaluate products using new esters and latexes derived from its polymer platform.

In June, the company announced agricultural trials of its ingredients in crop production under the tradename BioVail GRZ 200L, with results expected after harvest, though the company cautioned the work will require assessment across multiple growing seasons.

The board said it remains confident in the company's strategy, customer pipeline and long-term growth prospects.
