Janus Electric managing director and CEO Ben Hutt talked with Proactive about the company's growth strategy, international expansion and progress scaling its battery-swap electric truck conversion platform.
Hutt provided an update on Janus Electric's progress since taking the helm, highlighting the successful completion of a $4.5 million capital raise that was more than twice oversubscribed. He said the funding has strengthened the company's institutional shareholder base and supports its long-term strategy of building a global electric transport infrastructure business.
A key milestone fpr the company recently is the launch of Janus Electric's first South Australian conversion centre with Archer Heavy Equipment, marking the beginning of the company's dealer-led national rollout. The facility is expected to have capacity for around 50 truck conversions in its first year, with plans to scale to between 150 and 200 conversions annually as demand grows.
The company is also increasing its focus on the United States, particularly California, where supportive policies are helping accelerate fleet electrification. Hutt noted that Janus is currently "the only company converting those trucks from diesel to electric" in the market it is targeting.
Discussing future growth, Hutt said Janus has a pipeline valued at approximately $1 billion and expects increased sales activity over coming months as new products are introduced and customer orders progress.
