Eco Buildings Group PLC (AIM:ECOB, FRA:9ZL0), the sustainable construction company, has established a dedicated British subsidiary to target what it describes as one of Europe's most supply-constrained housing markets.
The company has launched Eco Buildings United Kingdom (EBUK) and signed a binding framework agreement with Noventum, a special purpose vehicle led by construction specialists Ben Thompson and Alister Bennett.
The two bring experience across large-scale residential, infrastructure and government-backed programmes.
EBUK will deploy Eco Buildings' glass fibre reinforced gypsum (GFRG) construction technology, a factory-produced building system the company says delivers faster build speeds, lower costs and reduced labour dependency compared with traditional methods.
The technology is also aligned with Passivhaus requirements, the rigorous energy efficiency standard increasingly sought by housing associations and local authorities.
An initial pilot programme is underway, with two demonstration homes planned on sites already identified by a potential development partner, intended to showcase the speed, quality and economic viability of the system to prospective customers.
To supply near-term demand, Eco Buildings plans to ship GFRG wall panels from its existing manufacturing facility in Albania, which is currently undergoing a significant capacity expansion, while the company evaluates the case for establishing a domestic UK production base.
EBUK is targeting housing associations and other sector participants seeking scalable and economically viable delivery systems at a time of acute housing undersupply across the UK.
The company said it had already received engagement and enquiries from UK housing sector participants who view the offering as differentiated from solutions currently available in the market.
Executive Vice Chairman Etrur Albani said the establishment of EBUK represented a highly significant milestone in the group's development and reflected the company's view that the UK is one of the most important strategic housing markets globally.
