Kavango Resources makes management changes

Kavango Resources PLC (LSE:KAV, OTC:KVGOF) said it is reshaping its board and senior management team as the Southern Africa-focused metals explorer and gold producer prepares for its next phase of development.

Peter Wynter Bee, currently interim chief executive and non-executive chairman, will step down from the board on 1 July 2026. Donald McAlister, currently executive interim finance director, will become non-executive chairman and interim chief executive from the same date, providing continuity while the company continues its search for a permanent CEO.

The company also appointed Thamsanqa Mpofu as a non-executive director from 1 July. Mpofu is chairman of Kavango Zimbabwe Holdings and Kavango Mining, and has held senior roles across Zimbabwean and international businesses, including 3M Company in Zimbabwe, BHP Minerals Zimbabwe, Meikles Hospitality and ZB Financial Holdings.

Lorenz Werndle will join as chief financial officer and executive director from 20 July. Kavango said Werndle brings experience across mining finance, strategy, corporate development and M&A, including listed-company finance, fundraising, balance sheet restructuring and regulatory compliance across AIM and Nasdaq environments.
