EnergyPathways PLC (AIM:EPP) has appointed former UK government energy adviser Alison Flower as an independent non-executive director, adding policy and energy security experience as it advances its MESH storage project in the Irish Sea.
Flower has more than 30 years’ experience across energy and energy policy. She served as senior energy adviser at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office between 2019 and 2025, advising on energy security, transition policy and diplomacy.
She previously held leadership roles at BG Group, where EnergyPathways said she influenced capital allocation and market strategy and contributed to global LNG growth.
She is also a fellow of the UK Energy Institute, chair of the Energy Institute’s Benevolent Fund and an ambassador for POWERful Women.
EnergyPathways said Flower will provide commercial and policy insight as MESH progresses. The company describes the project as expected to be Britain’s largest integrated energy storage project, combining compressed air energy storage with natural gas and hydrogen storage.
MESH is located in the Irish Sea and connected to Barrow-in-Furness. Its licence area has the potential to support up to 60 sub-surface salt caverns, with operations targeted for 2031, subject to approvals and financing.
