Recce Pharmaceuticals Ltd CEO James Graham talked with Proactive about the company’s proposed expansion into the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region through a non-binding term sheet signed with a leading publicly listed Middle Eastern pharmaceutical company.
The proposed 10-year exclusive licensing agreement covers the commercial sales and distribution of Recce’s R327 Topical Gel for diabetic foot infections across Saudi Arabia, GCC countries, Egypt, Algeria and Morocco. Graham said the opportunity is significant given the growing prevalence of diabetes and associated infections throughout the region.
During the interview, Graham highlighted that diabetic foot infections remain a major unmet medical need globally, noting that millions of people each year suffer from infected diabetic ulcers. He explained that Recce’s R327 Topical Gel is positioned as a potential first standard of care treatment for these infections.
Graham said: “This is the opportunity to participate in the first new class of antibiotics in over 40 years.”
The interview also covered manufacturing scalability, with Graham outlining Recce’s current production capabilities and confidence in increasing output to meet anticipated demand.
