International Graphite managing director Andrew Worland talked with Proactive about the company’s binding joint venture agreement with Alchemy to develop a graphite processing hub near Venice, Italy.
Worland described the deal as a “game changing announcement” for International Graphite (ASX:IG6), highlighting the strategic importance of partnering with one of Europe’s largest hydrofluoric acid producers.
The proposed processing facility will be built at Alchemy’s existing operational site in Porto Marghera near Venice, creating cost and operational synergies. Worland explained that the project will benefit from Alchemy’s established infrastructure, workforce, laboratories, warehousing and construction equipment, dramatically reducing development costs compared to a standalone operation.
According to Worland, the initial plant is expected to produce 10,000 tonnes per annum, with future expansion planned through joint venture cash flows.
Worland said the partnership positions International Graphite to become “the premier sort of graphite investment opportunity in the listed company space over the next 6 to 12 months.”
