Pony.ai tops Q1 forecasts, lifts Robotaxi revenue outlook and fleet targets

Pony.ai (NASDAQ:PONY) reported first-quarter 2026 results that topped analyst expectations on both revenue and earnings, with shares edging higher in early trading on Tuesday after the company also raised its full-year Robotaxi revenue outlook.

The autonomous driving company posted revenue of US$34.3 million, up 145% from US$14 million a year earlier and ahead of estimates for US$22.6 million.

Earnings per share came in at a loss of US$0.09, compared with expectations for a US$0.12 loss.

Revenue gains were broad-based across segments. Robotaxi services revenue rose 395% year over year to US$8.6 million, supported by higher fare-charging activity and the rollout of its Gen-7 fleet.

The company said incremental contributions from a joint deployment model also supported growth, while average weekly paid orders in May increased 119% compared with January levels.

Robotruck services revenue increased 31% to US$10.2 million as commercial deployments scaled, while intelligent solutions revenue surged 246.5% to US$15.5 million, reflecting higher shipments across low-speed delivery, logistics, and robotics applications.

Alongside the results, Pony.ai raised its 2026 Robotaxi revenue target, now expecting growth of more than 3.5 times the 2025 level, up from a prior target of three times.

It also increased its year-end Robotaxi fleet goal to more than 3,500 vehicles from 3,000.

The company highlighted continued momentum in user demand, noting that registered users have more than tripled year over year and that fleet expansion has exceeded 1,700 units. It also pointed to early international deployment, including the launch of Robotaxi services in Croatia in partnership with local operators.

“We made continued progress across the domestic and overseas markets in the first quarter of 2026,” Pony.ai CEO James Peng said in a statement.

“Supported by our dual-engine strategy and joint deployment model, we will continue to provide safe and reliable Robotaxi services at scale, promoting the sustainable development of the autonomous driving industry and the broader society.”

Pony.ai’s US-listed shares added about 1% at about $9 on Tuesday.
