1911 Gold reports high-grade drill results at Ogama-Rockland in Manitoba

1911 Gold Corp (TSX-V:AUMB, OTCQB:AUMBF, FRA:2KY) has intersected grades of up to 46.1 grams per tonne gold at its Ogama-Rockland deposit in Manitoba, bolstering the case for a district-scale expansion of its True North mining hub.

The Ogama-Rockland deposit is located about 45 kilometres southeast of the company’s permitted True North mine and mill complex and is considered one of several regional targets that could support future production growth using existing infrastructure.

The latest drill program consisted of eight surface diamond drill holes totaling 2,410 metres, aimed at confirming an updated geological model and testing extensions of mineralized veins beyond the deposit’s current inferred resource estimate from 2013.

The company also sampled 15 historical drill holes that had not previously been assayed.

Among the highlighted drill results, hole OR-25-001 intersected 10.41 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 3.4 metres, including 32.4 g/t gold over 1 metre.

Hole OR-26-004 returned 46.1 g/t gold over 0.6 metres, while additional results included 5.57 g/t gold over 0.8 metres and 3.51 g/t gold over 1 metre.

Historical core sampling also identified high-grade intervals, including 18.1 g/t gold over 0.70 metres in hole OG-11-008.

1911 Gold said the results support its updated geological interpretation and will be incorporated into a new mineral resource estimate for Ogama-Rockland.

The company added that metallurgical testing is underway to assess whether ore from the deposit can be processed at the True North facility.

1911 Gold CEO Shaun Heinrichs said the drilling confirmed the company’s revised geological model and intersected high-grade mineralization both within and beyond the current resource area.

“Ogama-Rockland is one of our high-priority regional targets that illustrates the district-scale hub-and-spoke opportunity to provide long-term production growth for the operations and is located approximately 45 km southeast of True North via a provincial highway,” Heinrichs said.

Ogama-Rockland is expected to be included in an updated and expanded preliminary economic assessment following completion of a broader resource update later this year.

“The updated and expanded PEA will aim to highlight future expansion opportunities as we continue to unlock the potential within the True North mine and across our significant and prospective land position,” Heinrichs added.

The company said future drilling is also being planned on additional targets within the Rice Lake greenstone belt, located between 30 kilometres and 50 kilometres from the True North complex.

Ogama-Rockland includes the historical Ogama and Rockland mines, which collectively produced about 45,000 ounces of gold between 1948 and 1951 at an average grade of 11.2 g/t gold, according to the company.
