Nexus Minerals hits high-grade gold up to 26.53 g/t at Wallbrook’s Clement prospect

Nexus Minerals Ltd (ASX:NXM, FRA:YAK) has delivered a strong set of initial reverse circulation (RC) drilling results from the Clement prospect at its Wallbrook Gold Project in Western Australia, with assays returning grades of up to 26.53 g/t gold.

The results come from the first 10 holes of a planned 33-hole RC campaign and form part of a broader 22,000-metre resource definition drilling program underway across the Wallbrook project area, about 140 kilometres northeast of Kalgoorlie.

All 10 holes returned anomalous gold intersections, confirming a stacked multi-lode mineralised system at Clement and reinforcing the prospect’s potential to contribute to future resource growth at Wallbrook.

Broad high-grade intercepts

The standout result from the program was:

  • 12 metres at 3.81 g/t gold, including 1 metre at 26.53 g/t, within a broader 19 metres at 2.51 g/t from 76 metres.

Other notable intersections included:

  • 15 metres at 2.02 g/t gold, including 2 metres at 4.10 g/t and 3 metres at 3.92 g/t;
  • 13 metres at 1.85 g/t gold, including 2 metres at 7.59 g/t;
  • 28 metres at 1.57 g/t gold, including 9 metres at 2.08 g/t;
  • 3 metres at 4.52 g/t gold, including 1 metre at 12.37 g/t; and
  • 3 metres at 4.12 g/t gold within a 5-metre zone grading 2.65 g/t.

The company said results continue to support increasing scale potential at Clement, with mineralisation remaining open along strike and at depth.

Managing director Andy Tudor said the results marked a strong start to the company’s resource drilling campaign.

"These strong initial Clement results are an excellent start to our ~22,000-metre resource definition campaign at Wallbrook and validate the disciplined, systematic approach we have applied over the past 18 months. Clement sits immediately adjacent to our established Crusader–Templar resource within a proven, well-endowed gold corridor.

"With the drilling program progressing well and further results to come from Clement, as well as from the Payns, Branches and Crusader–Templar prospects, we continue to build momentum toward the updated multi-prospect mineral resource estimate planned for later this year. We look forward to the next tranche of assay results in the weeks ahead."

Expanding the Wallbrook inventory

The Clement prospect lies immediately adjacent to the Crusader–Templar deposit, which currently hosts Wallbrook’s only mineral resource estimate of 5.7 million tonnes at 1.7 g/t gold for 304,000 ounces.

Nexus believes geological similarities between Clement and Crusader–Templar highlight the potential for a larger connected mineralised system within the broader Wallbrook gold corridor.

The drilling program has been designed to test a 650-metre strike extent of confirmed anomalism at Clement while validating mineralisation continuity and geometry ahead of resource estimation work.

The broader RC campaign is targeting Clement, Payns and Branches prospects, as well as extensional opportunities around Crusader–Templar.

Drilling continues

RC drilling remains ongoing at Clement and Payns, with about 10,000 metres completed so far from the planned 22,000 metres.

Nexus expects drilling to continue through July, with additional assay results anticipated over coming weeks and into August.

Independent consultant Jeremy Clark of Lily Valley International has been engaged to complete an updated multi-prospect Wallbrook mineral resource estimate, targeted for delivery by the end of the September quarter.
