Softcat raises full-year profit outlook on strong AI-driven demand

Softcat PLC (LSE:SCT), the IT infrastructure reseller, said it delivered strong double-digit growth in gross profit and underlying operating profit in the third quarter ended 30 April 2026, supported by continued demand for AI-enabled IT infrastructure.

The company said growth was broad-based across the business, with particular strength in the corporate segment. Some customer orders also continued to be brought forward due to ongoing memory shortages.

Softcat now expects mid-teens growth in underlying operating profit for the full year, compared with previous guidance for high single-digit growth.

Chief executive Graham Charlton said: “We have continued to see strong customer demand, with the impact of AI on technology driving investment and innovation across all elements of IT infrastructure.”

He added that the company’s offering spans hardware, software and services across data centre, network, security, data and automation technologies.

“This puts us in a strong position to help customers as technology platforms become more complicated and integrated in an age of significant change,” Charlton said.

Softcat said it remains encouraged by momentum in the business and sees opportunities for continued market share gains. However, the company noted uncertainty linked to ongoing memory shortages and the wider macroeconomic environment.
