Vita Resources NL (ASX:VTA, FRA:J570) has received maiden assay results from the first 850 auger holes at its 100%-owned Ninnis Gold Project in Western Australia, identifying multiple gold-in-soil anomalies that warrant follow-up exploration.

The initial program, part of a planned 1,200-hole campaign, covered 39 shallow auger drill lines across 7.2 kilometres north-south and 3.2 kilometres east-west.
Results from the northern sector highlighted multiple large anomalies extending 600 metres northwest, with widths of 200 to 300 metres at the 10 parts per billion gold contour and higher assays above 20ppb and 30ppb gold, peaking at 47ppb.
In the southern sector, closer-spaced sampling identified a 500-metre by 300-metre anomaly above the 10ppb gold contour, with results up to 42.8ppb gold.
Infill program added after early success
Following the results, Vita has expanded the maiden program to include about 300 infill holes, in addition to the remaining 350 holes from the original auger campaign.
The infill work will target 2 sub-parallel fault zones intersected in the maiden program, which the company has identified as major structural controls on the mineralised system.
Drilling contractor GYRO Drilling is expected to remobilise when practicable, with the remaining auger and infill program anticipated to take about 20 days to complete.
Ninnis, about 30 kilometres west of Laverton in the Eastern Goldfields, covers 25 square kilometres and sits in a region that hosts several major gold deposits and operations.
“These are highly encouraging results just in from our maiden auger drilling at Ninnis Gold, which appears to have intersected the two sub-parallel fault systems contained within the licence. The identification of multiple gold in soil anomalies bodes well for the company and as such we have expanded the maiden programme to include infill activities in appropriate locations," non-executive chairman Gavin Rutherford said.
"Whilst the recent wet weather caused for demobilisation of the driller, it has actually worked in our favour as given the successful nature of our initial results, the remobilisation to complete the campaign will now include the infill programme. This is a very exciting time for our newest project, Ninnis Gold.”
