Small Cap Watch: European Lithium strikes CRML deal, Atomic Eagle grows uranium footprint, Lightning flags tungsten upside

Small caps are continuing to trade against a volatile macro backdrop, with investors balancing easing Middle East tensions against still-elevated oil prices, rising bond yields and persistent inflation concerns.

That environment is keeping attention firmly on critical minerals, energy security and strategic resource exposure, themes reflected across early news flow on Tuesday morning.

European Lithium enters CRML takeover scheme

European Lithium Ltd (ASX:EUR, OTCQB:EULIF) has entered a binding scheme implementation deed with Nasdaq-listed Critical Metals Corp. (NASDAQ:CRML), which will acquire 100% of the company under a recommended deal structure.

Under the proposal, EUR shareholders would receive 0.035 CRML shares for each EUR share held, implying a value of about 58 cents per share and representing a substantial premium to recent trading levels. The transaction would consolidate 100% ownership of the Tanbreez rare earths project in Greenland within CRML while giving EUR shareholders exposure to a broader critical minerals platform spanning rare earths and lithium.

Atomic Eagle expands Zambian uranium position

Atomic Eagle Ltd (ASX:AEU, FRA:6QZ0) has moved to significantly expand its uranium footprint in Zambia through an option agreement over the 429km² Sitwe uranium project in the Luangwa Valley.

The acquisition increases the company’s tenement holdings by roughly 38% and adds a second major uranium position alongside its flagship Muntanga project. Historical drilling at Sitwe returned shallow higher-grade intercepts including 1 metre at 1,620ppm uranium from 35 metres, with the broader licence area also hosting multiple untested radiometric anomalies.

Lightning identifies tungsten potential at Warby

Lightning Minerals Ltd (ASX:L1M, FRA:YZ1) says historical data reviews and recent fieldwork have highlighted significant tungsten potential at its Warby project in North Queensland.

Historical stream sediment sampling identified tungsten anomalies up to 102ppm, while recent reconnaissance work confirmed multiple shallow historical workings across a 2km structural corridor. The company has submitted 14 rock chip samples for assay as it evaluates the project’s broader critical minerals potential alongside existing gold and copper targets.

Provaris advances Norwegian hydrogen export plans

Provaris Energy Ltd (ASX:PV1, OTC:GBBLF, FRA:WS90) has signed a cooperation agreement with shipping giant “K” LINE and Norwegian Hydrogen to advance a compressed hydrogen export supply chain from Norway into Northern Europe.

The agreement will focus on developing shipping solutions tied to the proposed FjordH2 project in Norway, including commercial studies around hydrogen transport costs, fleet management and long-term charter structures using Provaris’ compressed hydrogen carrier designs.
