Cornish Metals Inc (AIM:CUSN, TSX-V:CUSN, OTC:SBWFF) Chief Development Officer Fawzi Hanano talked with Proactive at the One2One Investor Forum about the company’s progress toward restarting the historic South Crofty tin mine in Cornwall and the growing strategic importance of tin supply in Europe.
Hanano outlined how South Crofty is a fully permitted brownfield restart project with a clear pathway to first production targeted for mid-2028. He explained that the project financing process has advanced significantly following the announcement of a US$210 million Nordic bond issue, which was oversubscribed and attracted interest from North American, UK and European investors.
The discussion highlighted the strong market fundamentals for tin, which Hanano described as “a critical mineral that is essential for everyday life.” He explained that demand for tin is increasingly driven by electronics, renewable energy, electric vehicles and AI data centres, while supply remains constrained and heavily concentrated in Asia.
