Small Cap Watch: ASX Small Ordinaries edges higher as small caps deliver resource and technology updates

The S&P/ASX Small Ordinaries index edged slightly higher to 3,473 points, gaining 2.7 points for the session, although the benchmark remains down 0.69% over the past five days as investors continued to weigh mixed sentiment across the small-cap resources and technology sectors.

A string of ASX small-cap companies have already delivered project updates spanning gold exploration, energy development, critical minerals and emerging technology plays this morning, highlighting continued activity despite broader market volatility.

Aurum lifts Boundiali Indicated Resource

Aurum Resources Ltd (ASX:AUE) reported a 24% increase in Indicated Resources at its Boundiali Gold Project in Côte d’Ivoire, lifting the category to 1.70 million ounces of gold following extensive infill drilling at the BDT2 deposit.

The updated estimate pushed the total Boundiali Mineral Resource Estimate 6% higher to 3.22 million ounces, with the additional higher-confidence ounces expected to feed into the project’s pre-feasibility study due later this quarter.

Aurum’s total group resource base now stands at 4.38 million ounces, including the Napié Gold Project.

Critical Resources seeks Croesus extension

Critical Resources Ltd (ASX:CRR, FRA:9S70) moved to expand the footprint of its Croesus gold and tungsten project in New Zealand after lodging an Extension of Land application with New Zealand Petroleum and Minerals.

The proposed extension captures the western continuation of the Barrytown Granite, which hosts greisen-style tungsten mineralisation at Granite Creek.

The application follows recent fieldwork confirming greisen alteration and quartz vein structures across multiple locations within the project area.

Tamboran advances Beetaloo development

Tamboran Resources continued to advance activity in the Beetaloo Basin, outlining progress across funding, production and infrastructure milestones.

The company previously announced a farm-down agreement with Daly Waters Energy covering about 10,000 acres for a US$28.5 million carry.

Operationally, the Shenandoah South 6H well delivered a record 20-day initial production flow rate averaging 10.3 MMcf/d during April, while construction of the Sturt Plateau Compression Facility reached 88% completion by month-end.

The associated pipeline is undergoing final commissioning ahead of tie-in works.

Xenitra sales pass $500,000 after OPAL launch

In the technology sector, Xenitra Ltd (ASX:XEN) said sales through its OPAL real-world asset tokenisation ecosystem exceeded $500,000 within the first month of launch.

More than 130 distributors have joined the platform, while over 12,000 livestream viewers attended the launch event in Hong Kong.

Xenitra said the platform positions the company as an early entrant into commercial tokenisation for fast-moving consumer goods in China and noted discussions are underway with additional global brands for future integration.

Carnaby reports high-grade Trekelano hits

Carnaby Resources Ltd (ASX:CNB) reported further high-grade copper-gold drill results from the Trek 1 Footwall Lode discovery at the Trekelano Project near Mt Isa in Queensland.

Standout intersections included 19 metres at 7.1% copper equivalent and 24 metres at 2.0% copper equivalent, with the company describing the discovery as a significant new mineralised lode outside the current resource estimate.

Carnaby said the new zone remains open along strike and at depth, with ongoing drilling aimed at defining the extent of the mineralisation and assessing its potential to expand the existing open pit reserve.
