Graphene Manufacturing Group signs Brisbane lease as it prepares global expansion

Graphene Manufacturing Group Ltd (TSX-V:GMG, OTCQX:GMGMF) has signed a three-year lease in Brisbane's Richlands suburb, marking the company's first physical expansion beyond its existing headquarters as it prepares to scale graphene production globally.

The new site, located near GMG's current headquarters in Queensland, Australia, covers more than 2,100 square metres of space, including offices, meeting rooms and a high-ceiling warehouse.

The expansion follows GMG's Gen 2.0 Graphene Production Project, which is expected to be completed by the end of June 2026 and produce at least 10 tonnes of graphene per annum at its Richlands headquarters.

"This is the first site for expansion for our company — for both staff and production assets," said Craig Nicol, CEO and managing director. "We will look to expand our production assets here after the Gen 2 Project is completed, which is expected at the end of June 2026."

Non-executive chairman Jack Perkowski described the lease as the opening move in a broader international strategy. "As we look to expand our production plants around the world, this is the first significant step in our global growth plan," he said.

Once the Gen 2.0 Project is commissioned, GMG plans to replicate its production model at additional sites around the world, with the goal of scaling output, diversifying production risk and reducing operating costs by locating plants in regions with lower input costs, including cheaper natural gas.

The company is currently planning three additional expansion projects: two in North America, potentially one each in the US and Canada, and one in Australia at the newly leased Richlands site.

GMG's broader expansion program envisions five production facilities covering graphene production from natural gas, a coating blend plant for its THERMAL-XR product, a lubricant blend plant for its G Lubricant additive, a graphene slurry plant for its SUPA G lithium-ion battery additive, and a battery assembly plant for its graphene aluminium-ion battery.

The company said it intends to grow production capacity in line with sales across all product lines.
