CelLBxHealth shares jump 17% as strategic deals and cost reset lift sentiment

CelLBxHealth PLC (AIM:CLBX, FRA:DWV) jumped 17% to 1.2p on Monday as investors responded to a first-quarter trading update revealing advanced commercial negotiations that could materially accelerate the company's turnaround.

The liquid biopsy specialist, which has developed the Parsortix platform for harvesting intact cancer cells from blood, is in advanced discussions with one of the largest private US healthcare providers to use the technology across two clinical studies.

It is simultaneously in the final stages of concluding a Master Services Agreement with a top-ten global pharmaceutical company for drug discovery and development applications.

Cavendish, the company's house broker, views both engagements as meaningful external validation of the Parsortix platform, with successful execution potentially driving broader adoption across the contract research organisation and clinical laboratory markets the company is increasingly targeting.

The broker has revised its financial year 2026 revenue estimate down by 42% to £2.1 million, aligning with updated company guidance, after prior forecasts reflected a higher degree of pipeline variability under previous commercial leadership.

Cavendish leaves its financial year 2027 and 2028 estimates unchanged, reflecting management's view that the underlying pipeline remains robust, with additional opportunities capable of converting before the year-end and supporting a potential upgrade to full-year guidance.

The cost restructuring programme running in parallel is substantial: headcount has been reduced from 44 to 39 full-time employees in the first quarter alone, following a 60% reduction last year, with annual cash operating cost savings of more than £6.6 million now expected in 2026.

Cash stood at £4.3 million at the end of March, in line with expectations.

A newly appointed US head of sales with a track record in the circulating tumour cell industry is expected to bring greater discipline to pipeline conversion.

Cavendish retains its corporate designation and 4p target price, implying upside of more than 350% from current levels.
