HAWK RESOURCES LIMITED (ASX:HFC) has executed an Agreement for Mineral Exploration with Ngaanyatjarra Native Title holders and Traditional Owners, covering exploration across the Olympus Scandium Project in Western Australia.
The agreement follows three months of engagement with the Ngaanyatjarra Council and an on-country meeting with Traditional Owners. It represents a key step in Hawk’s efforts to begin on-ground exploration at Olympus, where the company is targeting a potential new scandium province.
“Obtaining an Agreement for Mineral Exploration over Olympus after only three months of negotiations marks a major milestone for Hawk. The on-country meeting on 24th April which entailed an introduction to Hawk and a presentation on the Company’s planned exploration was positively received by the Traditional Owners," Hawk Resources managing director Scott Caithness said.
“Importantly, the meeting also enabled Hawk personnel to gain an early understanding of access to the project area and the logistics required to conduct its planned exploration program.
“The Company is now on the cusp of commencing exploration at Olympus which has the potential to be a major new scandium province.”
Agreement advances access pathway
The agreement covers exploration activities across the full Olympus project area, which comprises 2 exploration licences, E69/3987 and E69/3988, over about 309 square kilometres in the West Musgrave region.

Hawk has now started the process to obtain ministerial consents from the Western Australian Ministers for Indigenous Affairs and Mines & Petroleum. The company is also scheduling a Cultural Heritage Survey to provide clearance for planned exploration work.
Subject to these approvals, Hawk expects on-ground exploration to begin in June 2026.
What it means for Hawk
The agreement materially de-risks access to Olympus and moves the company closer to testing a large scandium anomaly identified from historical exploration.
Olympus hosts a 7-kilometre by 4-kilometre soil anomaly grading above 500 ppm scandium based on historical pre-JORC 2012 pXRF analysis. Historical RAB drilling returned intercepts including 11 metres at 934 ppm scandium from surface and individual 1-metre samples of up to 2,164 ppm scandium.
Hawk has cautioned that the pXRF results are indicative only and require laboratory assay confirmation.
Exploration next steps
Hawk’s immediate work program includes securing ministerial consents, completing the Cultural Heritage Survey and carrying out due diligence soil sampling over the scandium anomaly.
If the sampling confirms the historical results, Hawk plans detailed soil sampling to refine drill targets, with follow-up drilling expected after target definition.
The company says the project benefits from relatively straightforward access, with a vehicle track running north-south through the licence area from the Great Central Highway.
