Lightning Minerals CEO Troy Brice talked with Proactive about the company’s flagship Mt Turner Gold Project in far north Queensland, where preparations are underway for the next phase of drilling activities. Speaking on-site near Georgetown, Brice outlined the company’s exploration plans and the confidence behind its expanding gold and copper targets.
Brice explained that the Mt Turner project is located approximately 15km from Georgetown and remains significantly underexplored, despite strong historical evidence of gold and copper mineralisation. He highlighted the presence of historical mining pits across a 14km fault line and noted that only 15 drill holes have previously been completed across the broader tenement package.
The upcoming phase two drill campaign is expected to begin in early June and will consist of approximately 670 metres of diamond drilling across six holes. The program is designed to confirm the extent and depth of high-grade mineralisation identified during the company’s November 2025 drilling campaign.
