Silver Range Resources Ltd (TSX-V:SNG, OTC:SLRRF, FRA:8SR) said on Wednesday it has expanded its Sniper Property in western Nevada from 4 to 14 claims by staking, with sampling at newly acquired showings returning up to 16.2 grams per tonne (g/t) gold.
The property is located on the north flank of Gold Mountain, south of Gold Point in Esmeralda County, and covers a high-grade gold occurrence near the historic mining district.
The company said gold and silver mineralization is hosted in quartz veins containing sulphide minerals, found in the outer shell of an ancient granite body where it meets overlying ancient sedimentary rocks. Sulphide minerals locally account for up to 20% of the vein material.
At the North Showing, mineralization is found along the contact between the granite intrusion and the surrounding rock.
Previous sampling at the location returned up to 121 g/t gold and 1,375 g/t silver from grab samples, and 0.4 metres at 46.3 g/t gold from a chip sample, according to Silver Range.
At the newly staked South Showing, similar vein-hosted mineralization was identified deeper within the intrusion. A total of seven samples were collected during staking.
Silver Range said it intends to continue exploring the property through additional prospecting, geochemical surveys, geophysical surveys and geologic mapping.
