Hydrogen Utopia moves into military market, shares rise

Hydrogen Utopia International PLC (OTCQB:HUIPF, LSE:HUI) said it is moving into the defence market with Project Fortress Fuel, a proposed system designed to turn domestic waste plastic and end-of-life tyres into JP-8 military aviation fuel and baseload electricity.

The company said the project is aimed at reducing military reliance on long-distance fuel supply chains, particularly routes exposed to geopolitical disruption, embargoes or conflict-related interdiction.

A typical Fortress Fuel facility would be designed to produce up to 28,000 tonnes of JP-8 fuel a year, equivalent to around 221,000 barrels annually, while maintaining up to 12 months of plastic feedstock on base to support continuous production.

HUI said the system could also produce diesel and be reconfigured to generate electricity during power disruption, supporting base operations, radar, communications and other critical infrastructure.

The company said the model is based on InEnTec’s plasma gasification process and is intended to operate without external fuel inputs once commissioned. HUI has identified the UK as a strategic entry point, with Saudi Arabia and neighbouring countries also seen as relevant deployment markets.

In London, the small-cap share was up 18% on Tuesday, changing hands at 3.2p.
