NewPeak Metals Ltd managing director Mark Purcell talked with Proactive about the company’s latest drilling campaign at the Las Opeñas gold project in Argentina, where a minimum 2,500-metre diamond drilling program is now underway.
Purcell explained that the campaign is designed to test the scale potential of a gold-dominant polymetallic system across a large breccia-hosted structure mapped over approximately 6.8 kilometres at surface. The program will initially comprise around nine drill holes, with flexibility to expand depending on results and observations in the field.
In addition to Las Opeñas, NewPeak Metals is awaiting assay results from drilling at the Tansey project, where the company is testing extensions of mineralisation around a historic underground gold mine.
