H3E wins WA grant for Warro seismic reprocessing

H3 ENERGY LTD (ASX:H3E) has been awarded a $50,000 Western Australian Government grant to reprocess the Warro 3D land seismic survey across its 100%-owned R7 Permit in the North Perth Basin.

The grant, awarded through the WA Department of Mines, Energy and Exploration’s Exploration Incentive Scheme, will support a new technical assessment of the Warro Field using modern seismic reprocessing techniques.

The work is expected to improve imaging of deeper targets within the R7 block and help define the extent and continuity of sand intervals intersected at the base of the Warro 2 and Warro 4 wells.

The sand encountered in Warro 4 remains only partly penetrated and has not been flow tested.

“We are thrilled to receive this grant, which will be instrumental in providing the H3 Energy Technical Team with the information it needs to properly evaluate the deeper prospectivity of the R7 Permit. The original processing of the Warro 3D survey was completed over 10 years ago and the science has progressed significantly since then," H3E CEO Nik Sykiotis said.

"The pattern in the North Perth Basin over the last decade or so is that better reservoir quality can be found deeper in the stratigraphy and we are confident in our ability to unlock similar potential on R7.”

Funding to sharpen deeper target definition

The reprocessing program will focus on data that was originally processed more than 10 years ago, with H3E aiming to unlock new subsurface insights across Warro.

The company believes the deeper sand interval identified in Warro 4, or a slightly deeper horizon, may correspond to the Cadda Formation or the Cattamarra Coal Measures.

Both formations are established conventional reservoirs in nearby fields, including Walyering and Red Gully, where natural flow has been demonstrated.

H3E said the targets were consistent with the broader North Perth Basin trend of higher-quality reservoirs being found at deeper stratigraphic levels.

The company said the WA Government funding reflected continued support from the Department of Mines, Energy and Exploration and would assist H3E in advancing its assessment of Warro’s deeper conventional gas potential.
