Kaoko Metals managing director Gerard O’Donovan talked with Proactive about the company’s upcoming ASX listing and its two fully permitted copper-focused projects in Namibia.
O’Donovan outlined the strong macroeconomic case for copper, pointing to rising demand driven by AI, data centres and electrification trends, stating that “there's only one fundamental metal that's going to fuel all that, and that's copper.” He highlighted a growing supply deficit and reduced investment in early-stage exploration as key drivers behind the company’s strategy.
The company is focused on the underexplored Kaoko Copper Belt, where it holds a large land package targeting sediment-hosted copper-silver mineralisation.
With a fully permitted portfolio and imminent ASX listing, Kaoko Metals is preparing to start drilling within months. O’Donovan emphasised that the company is “ready to go” and focused on delivering discovery-driven growth.
