Lightning Minerals Ltd (ASX:L1M, FRA:YZ1) CEO Troy Brice talked with Proactive about key highlights from the company’s latest quarterly report, with a strong focus on advancing the Mt Turner Gold Project in Queensland. Brice outlined how the company has remained active despite a typically quieter period for explorers, progressing technical assessments and refining its strategic direction.
The company has made a decisive shift to focus solely on gold and copper, divesting its lithium assets to streamline operations and capital allocation. Brice emphasised that this strategic plan is central to the company’s progress, stating it is being executed with a “very disciplined capital investment approach” centred on Mt Turner.
At the Mt Turner Gold Project, Phase 1 drilling delivered solid initial results, targeting historical workings dating back to the 1980s. The next phase aims to expand on these findings, with Phase 2 drilling expected to commence by late May or early June, subject to final site access. The program will focus on linking mineralised zones and testing the potential for a larger, continuous system.
Brice highlighted the broader regional opportunity, noting the project’s location near Georgetown, an area with historical gold production and existing processing infrastructure. He added that the company is “targeting very specific intersection points” in the upcoming drilling campaign, with assay results anticipated from mid-July.
With a small market capitalisation and a clearly defined pathway to monetisation, Lightning Minerals is positioning itself to capitalise on favourable macroeconomic conditions for gold and copper.
