Horizon Gold hits high-grade gold at Omega and Kingfisher as Gum Creek drilling delivers

Horizon Gold Ltd (ASX:HRN) has reported a round of high-grade gold intercepts from diamond drilling at its 100%-owned Gum Creek Gold Project in Western Australia, with results from both the Omega and Kingfisher prospects reinforcing underground potential and supporting upcoming resource updates.

The latest assays, drawn from four holes at Omega and three at Kingfisher, continue to extend known mineralisation and refine the company’s geological understanding as work progresses towards a feasibility study.

Strong hits at Omega extend mineralisation

Drilling at the Omega prospect has delivered a series of notable intercepts, including:

  • 14 metres at 2.87 g/t gold from 337 metres, including 8 metres at 4.60 g/t
  • 5 metres at 3.81 g/t from 325 metres
  • 1 metre at 5.46 g/t from 359 metres
  • 5 metres at 2.69 g/t from 363 metres

The program has extended high-grade mineralisation more than 120 metres down plunge beneath historical underground workings, providing key data for modelling and future resource estimation.

Omega sits outside the current mineral resource estimate (MRE), with the company planning a maiden resource for the prospect.

Geologically, mineralisation is hosted within banded iron formation, with high-grade zones linked to structural intersections identified through ongoing drilling and analysis.

Kingfisher drilling expands existing resource footprint

At the nearby Kingfisher prospect, drilling has confirmed and expanded the existing resource model, with results including:

  • 5 metres at 2.42 g/t gold from 338 metres, including 3 metres at 3.56 g/t
  • 4 metres at 2.37 g/t from 407 metres, including 1 metre at 8.09 g/t
  • 2 metres at 4.61 g/t from 538 metres, including 1 metre at 8.65 g/t

Kingfisher Prospect long section showing interpreted high-grade gold shoots, intercept pierce points (coloured by GxM), recent drilling intercepts >7 GxM, and historic unmined drilling intercepts >30 GxM.

These intercepts sit within a broader mineralised system defined by a 1.2-kilometre-long shear zone that remains open along strike and at depth.

Kingfisher hosts both open pit and underground resources, and the latest drilling is aimed at increasing confidence and expanding high-grade zones ahead of an updated resource estimate.

Drilling supports ongoing project work

Horizon Gold managing director Scott Williamson said the results continue to validate the company’s focus on high-grade zones beneath historical workings.

“At Omega, we've hit significant high-grade mineralisation over 120 metres down plunge beneath the existing underground mine,” he said. “This confirms we have further underground mining opportunities at Omega, and we're only just getting started.

“At Kingfisher, drilling is confirming and expanding our geological model, we’ve moved to two diamond rigs around the clock as we drive toward a resource upgrade for the Gum Creek Project over the coming months,” Williamson added. “With a 2.3-million-ounce resource base, a feasibility study on track for completion mid-year, and a gold price environment that only strengthens our investment case, Gum Creek is rapidly advancing towards development.”

Feasibility study on track

The Gum Creek feasibility study remains on schedule for completion in the first half of 2026, with surface and groundwater modelling, cost estimates and risk assessments already well advanced.

Horizon has also begun preparatory work for mine development and approvals.

With multiple rigs turning and resource updates in sight, attention is now turning to incorporating these deeper, high-grade zones into updated resource models and the broader feasibility work under way at Gum Creek.
