Renascor Resources Ltd (ASX:RNU, OTC:RSNUF, FRA:RU8) has started full-plant commissioning at its Purified Spherical Graphite (PSG) Demonstration Plant in Adelaide, South Australia, after completing construction, pre-commissioning and system verification activities.
The project remains in line with budget and schedule, with graphite processing under operating conditions expected to begin this quarter.
The current phase is focused on operating the facility under integrated conditions and progressing toward the production of battery-grade graphite and initial customer samples.
Managing director David Christensen said the transition into full-plant commissioning marked an important step in Renascor’s downstream strategy.
“With construction and pre-commissioning activities now complete, we have transitioned into full-plant commissioning of the PSG demonstration facility. This phase is focused on validating process performance under operating conditions and producing material to support product qualification. We expect initial results in the coming months, representing an important step in advancing our downstream development strategy.”

Adelaide facility to support PSG scale-up
The demonstration plant is designed to convert spherical graphite from Renascor’s 100%-owned Siviour Graphite Deposit in South Australia into PSG through a continuous production process.
Renascor said the facility would allow it to test, demonstrate and optimise its hydrofluoric acid-free purification process, with learnings to inform detailed design, construction and operation of a future commercial-scale PSG facility.
The company was awarded a $5 million Australian Government grant in July 2024 to support construction of the South Australian demonstration facility.
What comes next
Renascor expects to begin processing graphite using reagents later this quarter, targeting battery-grade graphite production and initial customer samples.
The company then plans to conduct operating runs to optimise parameters, increase production volumes and support larger sample production.
Renascor has secured enough graphite feedstock for commissioning and initial production, although further shipments required for the broader second-half production program remain subject to export approvals.
Successful commissioning is expected to support the next stage of development, including offtake engagement, detailed design and financing activities for the proposed commercial PSG facility.
