Aurum Resources builds 4.2Moz gold base as drilling drives resource growth across Côte d’Ivoire projects

Aurum Resources Ltd (ASX:AUE) has continued to expand its West African gold footprint in the March quarter, lifting group resources to 4.2 million ounces (Moz) as drilling and resource upgrades at its Boundiali and Napié projects underpin a growing development pipeline.

The quarter was headlined by a significant upgrade at the flagship Boundiali Gold Project in Côte d’Ivoire, where total resources rose 26% to 3.03Moz, including a 49% jump in higher-confidence Indicated resources to 1.37Moz.

At the same time, the company advanced its second project at Napié, where resources increased 34% to 1.16Moz, contributing to a rapidly growing group inventory.

Boundiali builds scale and confidence

Drilling remains central to Aurum’s growth strategy, with the company progressing a 100,000-metre program at Boundiali aimed at both expanding and upgrading the resource base.

Key highlights from the quarter included:

  • Total Boundiali resource increased to 3.03Moz at 1.0 g/t gold
  • Indicated resource lifted 49% to 1.37Moz
  • Higher-grade component of 1.61Moz at 1.7 g/t gold
  • Multiple high-grade drill hits, including 12m at 7.52 g/t and 9m at 8.15 g/t
  • Mineralisation remains open along strike and at depth across all deposits

The company noted it has grown the Boundiali resource from zero to more than 3Moz in just over two years, highlighting the pace of exploration success.

A pre-feasibility study is expected by May 2026, marking a key step towards development planning.

Napié emerging as second growth pillar

At the Napié Gold Project, Aurum delivered its maiden Indicated resource and expanded total resources to 1.16Moz at 1.2 g/t gold.

Highlights included:

  • Resource increased by 290,000oz (+34%)
  • Maiden Indicated resource of 0.35Moz
  • Only ~13% of the 30km Napié shear zone drilled
  • Strong metallurgical recoveries of ~94–95%

The project remains open along strike and at depth, with a 30,000-metre drilling campaign planned for 2026 to drive further growth.

Strong funding position supports aggressive drilling

Aurum ended the quarter with a cash balance of $61.5 million, following a $28.8 million placement backed by Perseus Mining, which took a 9.9% stake in the company.

Quarterly exploration spending totalled $6.1 million, largely directed towards drilling at Boundiali, reflecting the company’s focus on rapidly expanding and de-risking its resource base.

The company also strengthened its board during the period with the appointment of Richard Simpson as non-executive chairman.

Momentum building towards development

With two growing gold systems in Côte d’Ivoire and more than 130,000 metres of drilling planned across 2026, Aurum is moving quickly to build scale and confidence across its portfolio.

Upcoming catalysts include the Boundiali pre-feasibility study and further resource updates later this year, as ongoing drilling continues to test extensions and new targets across both projects.
