Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ:META, XETRA:FB2A, SIX:FB) has signed a multiyear agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to deploy tens of millions of AWS Graviton cores, strengthening its compute capacity for artificial intelligence systems.
The rollout will make Meta one of the largest users of AWS Graviton5 chips, which are designed for high-efficiency CPU performance in cloud environments. The chips will support growing demand for processing power tied to agentic AI, systems that can reason, plan, and execute tasks autonomously.
Meta said the agreement reflects a shift toward more diversified infrastructure as AI workloads become more CPU-intensive. The company already invests in its own data centers and custom hardware, and said the AWS partnership adds flexibility for scaling different types of compute.
“AWS has been a trusted cloud partner for years, and expanding to Graviton allows us to run the CPU-intensive workloads behind agentic AI with the performance and efficiency we need at our scale,” said Santosh Janardhan, head of infrastructure at Meta.
AWS, part of Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN), said Graviton chips are built to improve performance and efficiency for cloud-based applications. The company said the collaboration builds on its long-standing relationship with Meta and reflects broader adoption of custom silicon in AI infrastructure.

Following the announcement, shares of Meta and Amazon both added about 2.5%.
