ATOME PLC (AIM:ATOM) has pushed out the longstop date on funding for its US$650 million Villeta fertiliser project in Paraguay by one day, extending the deadline to Friday, 24 April 2026 as it works to finalise financing for the flagship development.
The AIM-listed group said a further update is expected later this week, following its previous funding announcement on 20 April. The project is designed as a 260,000-tonnes-per-year low-carbon fertiliser plant, making it the centrepiece of ATOME’s push into industrial-scale green fertiliser production.
Villeta already has several core pieces in place. ATOME has secured a 145MW renewable power purchase agreement, a 30-hectare site in a tax-free zone, a 10-year definitive offtake agreement with Yara International for all production, and a US$465 million fixed-price EPC contract with Casale. Hy24 was announced in early 2025 as the anchor and lead equity investor.
ATOME said it is negotiating the project finance with a view to starting work in 2026.
