ABx Group Limited managing director and CEO Mark Cooksey talked with Proactive about the company’s latest milestone at its Deep Leads – Rubble Mound and Wind Break deposits in Tasmania, where it has successfully produced a mixed rare earth carbonate and received its first formal customer validation.
Cooksey explained that the company has demonstrated its ability to produce a high-quality rare earth product using a straightforward and commercially proven process. He noted that the company is now progressing engineering studies to determine the most cost-effective processing method, including evaluating tank, heap, or in-situ leaching options. He also addressed environmental considerations in Tasmania, highlighting the region’s strong mining history and community support.
Beyond rare earths, ABx is advancing its ALCORE clean fluorine technology and near-term bauxite production, both of which offer additional growth pathways.
