Tamboran Resources chief executive Todd Abbott talked with Proactive about the company’s recent milestones, including securing US$198 million in funding to accelerate development in the Beetaloo Basin.
Abbott explained that the capital raise reflects strong institutional confidence in Tamboran Resources’ strategy and highlights the growing importance of energy security. He noted that investors are increasingly focused on reliable energy supply, particularly in regions like Australia that are well-positioned to serve Asian markets.
The funding provides Tamboran Resources with greater financial flexibility as it advances toward first gas production, expected in 2026. Abbott confirmed that initial production is anticipated as early as the third quarter of this year, supplying gas into the Northern Territory. This marks a significant step as the Beetaloo Basin transitions from exploration into production and cash flow generation.
