Sphere Medical (LON:SPHR) has hired a former Alliance Pharma (LON:APH) finance director as chief financial officer (CFO).
Richard Wright, who had been at Alliance since 2007 before leaving at the end of May, will join Sphere from August 10.
Dr Wolfgang Rencken, chief executive said: "We are delighted to have attracted someone of Richard's calibre.”
He said Wright will strengthen the executive management team as Sphere continues with the commercialisation of its arterial blood gas analyser Proxima.
Proxima delivers near real time analysis of blood gases and electrolytes metabolites, at the patient's bedside.
The company is already marketing Proxima in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium and is interested in working with partners for the worldwide distribution of Proxima.
