The global podcast company says new signings, video growth and higher advertising demand drove a strong start to 2026.
Audioboom Group PLC (AIM:BOOM) has reported revenue of $22.5 million for the first quarter of 2026, up 30% on the $17.3 million recorded in the same period last year.
Adjusted EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) more than doubled to $1.4 million, up 118% on the $0.6 million posted in Q1 2025, representing a margin of 6.2% against 3.7% a year earlier.
Gross profit rose 41% to $4.8 million, with the gross margin improving to 21.3% from 19.7%, as the company continued to focus on higher-quality revenue and improved creator contracts.
Showcase, Audioboom's technology-based global advertising marketplace, was a particular standout, with revenue up 63% year-on-year, driven by inventory growth and stronger advertiser demand.
Average monthly downloads and video views reached 170 million in the quarter, up 79% on the prior year period, boosted by the July 2025 acquisition of Adelicious and new signings, including political podcast network Crooked Media and true crime show RedHanded.
The company also announced commercial partnerships with Spotify and Apple to support the monetisation of its video podcast offering.
Group cash stood at $5.5 million at 31 March 2026, up from $4.2 million at the end of December 2025, with a further $3.4 million available via an overdraft facility.
Chief executive Stuart Last said the company's stable cost base had ensured it "maximised profitability" and described 2026 as being "off to a flying start."
Monthly operating costs held steady at an average of $1.1 million, with the company saying marginal revenue is now converting to marginal adjusted EBITDA at a rate in excess of 20%.
