Ceres Power Holdings PLC (LSE:CWR, OTC:CPWHF) shares rose 14.5% after the group launched a new solid oxide platform aimed at fast-growing demand from data centres and other energy-intensive users.
The company said its Endura system is designed to deliver onsite power more quickly and at lower cost, with installations possible in months rather than years.
Ceres said the platform could cut fuel cell system costs by around one-third at scale, while maintaining high efficiency and durability, including a five-year stack life.
The system can run on natural gas initially and transition to hydrogen and other low-carbon fuels, allowing customers to adapt as energy systems evolve.
It added that the technology can achieve more than 65% electrical efficiency and over 90% in combined heat and power applications.
Chief product officer Nick Lawrence said: “Ceres Endura turns decades of solid oxide development into a mature platform that’s ready for scale and built to last.”
The group said the platform also supports hydrogen production, with efficiency gains of around 30% compared with conventional methods when integrated with industrial heat.
Ceres said its partner-led model would enable faster global deployment and access to both power and hydrogen markets.
