Tiziana Life Sciences Ltd (NASDAQ:TLSA) said on Tuesday a late-breaking poster on its Phase 2a study of intranasal foralumab in Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) has been accepted for presentation at the World Parkinson Congress in Phoenix, Arizona in May 2026.
The poster, titled “A Phase 2a Study of Intranasal Foralumab in Multiple System Atrophy,” will outline the design and rationale of the ongoing TILS-025 trial, the company said.
The study marks the first clinical investigation of an intranasal anti-CD3 therapy in MSA.
Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) is a rare brain disease that affects automatic body functions like blood pressure and digestion, causes movement problems similar to Parkinson’s disease. There are currently no treatments that can slow or stop the disease.
Scientists believe that inflammation in the brain, along with overactive immune cells called microglia, plays a key role in how the disease worsens.
Tiziana’s lead candidate, foralumab, is a fully human anti-CD3 monoclonal antibody delivered intranasally. The therapy has previously shown a reduction in neuroinflammation in clinical studies involving multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer’s disease, the company said.
The Phase 2a, open-label trial is enrolling up to 10 patients aged 30 to 85 with clinically established or probable MSA. The study is being conducted in collaboration with Mass General Brigham’s MyTrial-MSA and Harvard Biomarkers Study 2.0 programs.
Participants will receive intranasal foralumab over a six-month period, with primary endpoints focused on changes in microglial activation measured through PET imaging and clinical scores assessing disease severity. Secondary measures include brain atrophy, autonomic function, quality of life and immune biomarkers.
Tiziana CEO Ivor Elrifi said the poster’s acceptance reflects growing interest in the drug’s novel approach to targeting neuroinflammation. “MSA is a devastating disease with high unmet need, and we believe foralumab’s ability to target microglial activation could represent a meaningful step forward for patients,” Elrifi said in a statement.
The company said it plans to share updates from the trial with the global Parkinson’s and MSA research community at the conference.
