Orosur Mining shares rise 19% after new gold zone discovered near Pepas deposit in Colombia

Orosur Mining Inc (AIM:OMI, TSX-V:OMI) shares rose 19% to 21.1p after the company reported the discovery of a new gold mineralised zone 100 metres west of its Pepas deposit at the Anzá project in Colombia.

Drill hole PEP082 intersected 26.4 metres at 2.85 grams per tonne gold from 5.3 metres depth, while the follow-up hole PEP083 returned 14.45 metres at 8.27 grams per tonne from surface, including a high-grade interval of 2.55 metres at 42.7 grams per tonne.

The company said the mineralisation displays the same lithologies and mineralising events as the main Pepas deposit, suggesting the two occurrences are likely related.

Orientation drilling to establish the form and trend of the new zone is underway, with holes PEP084 to PEP086 recently completed and showing similar mineralised lithologies visually.

Drilling has also commenced at the APTA prospect in the centre of the project area, with the first hole targeting 400 metres depth, while a drone-mounted magnetic survey has begun over the southern half of the Anzá project to assist targeting at both APTA and the El Cedro porphyry cluster.

Chief executive Brad George said the discovery confirmed Pepas was part of a larger system and that Anzá was now being explored to its full potential.
