BSF Enterprise PLC (LSE:BSFA), the tissue-engineered materials company, jumped 24% to 2.01p after revealing that John Story, chairman and principal shareholder of watch and accessories group Peers Hardy, has acquired a significant interest in the company through its recently completed placing, making him its largest individual shareholder.
Peers Hardy is a supplier of watches, jewellery and accessories to major UK high street retailers, with a track record in the design, sourcing and distribution of fashion and premium watches, including both licensed and owned brands.
BSF said its board viewed Story's experience across retail, branded consumer products and premium accessories as highly relevant to the company's strategy as it develops its position in high-value, next-generation materials.
The announcement makes reference to T-Rex Leather, a lab-grown leather product derived from dinosaur DNA that BSF unveiled recently, which the company is positioning as a premium material for the accessories and wearables market.
A formal notification disclosing the size of the holding is expected following settlement of the placing, which was announced on 2 April 2026.
BSF described Story as a supportive and strategic shareholder, a signal the board views the stake as more than a passive investment.
