Vantage Corp CEO on growth, tankers and China expansion

Vantage Corp CEO on growth, tankers and China expansion

Vantage Corp CEO Andre D'Rozario talked with Proactive about the company’s shipbroking business, recent expansion strategy and why management believes investors should be paying close attention as the NYSE American-listed group builds scale.

D'Rozario explained that shipbroking remains relatively new to public markets and said Vantage is the only listed shipbroker on a North American market. He said the company acts as an intermediary between oil companies and tanker owners, helping to broker deals while providing market knowledge, research and execution expertise.

The discussion also covered disruption in the Middle East and the impact of restrictions around the Strait of Hormuz.

A major focus was the company’s expansion into China through the acquisition of a 60% stake in PJ Marine Shanghai Co., Ltd. D'Rozario said the deal strengthens Vantage’s petrochemicals exposure and opens the door to China’s large shipbuilding market.
