Powerhouse Energy Group PLC (AIM:PHE, FRA:BT81) has handed Hydrogen Utopia International PLC (OTCQB:HUIPF, LSE:HUI) a non-exclusive licence to market its Distributed Modular Generation technology in selected European markets, opening a new route for the waste-to-energy group to pursue opportunities in central Europe.
The AIM-listed company said the licence will allow HUI to promote the DMG technology, while making clear the arrangement is not exclusive. Powerhouse added that any operator or developer of a project using the technology would still have to pay additional operating licence fees.
Chief executive Paul Emmitt said the deal came as an “unexpected opportunity” but offered timely exposure to European demand for non-fossil-fuel energy supplies.
"This provides PHE, at no cost, access to a team of experienced people who are knowledgeable of our technology in central Europe at a time when the EU market is looking for ways to become self-sufficient on energy product," Emmitt added.
"We look forward to working with them to deliver on the considerable opportunities available in the region."
